Denver’s style of teaching is so organic to who he is as a person and an artist day to day, that as a result of being around him for two years -- taking workshops and meeting one-on-one to discuss my work -- I learned more about reading and attentiveness than I had in college, and I gained longer-lasting poetic skills and instincts than I would in the years that followed in the classrooms of my MFA program.
